**Mumbai, India** – Actress Urvashi Rautela has issued a public apology for her insensitive comments regarding the recent stabbing attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. Rautela’s remarks, made during an interview with ANI, sparked widespread criticism. While expressing concern for Khan, she mentioned her diamond-studded watches, a comment many deemed tone-deaf given the gravity of the situation.

Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence on Thursday morning by an intruder who stabbed him multiple times, injuring his back and neck. He underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now reportedly recovering. Police have yet to make any arrests.

Rautela’s statement, released following the backlash, expressed remorse and acknowledged her lack of understanding of the severity of the situation. She stated, in part, “I am writing with deep regret and heartfelt apologies. Until now, I hadn’t fully grasped the gravity of the situation you are facing…I am ashamed that I allowed myself to be distracted by the gifts I received instead of acknowledging and understanding the trauma surrounding the incident and what you are going through.” She further offered her unwavering support and expressed admiration for Khan’s strength and resilience.

The initial controversy stemmed from Rautela’s comments during the ANI interview, where she mentioned her expensive jewelry while discussing the attack. She said, “It’s unfortunate. ‘Dahaad’ has now crossed ₹105 crore at the box office, and my mother gave me this diamond-studded Rolex, and my father gave me this small watch for my finger, but we don’t feel confident wearing them. There’s clearly an insecurity that anyone could attack us, which is very unfortunate.”

While Khan’s team has released a statement confirming his recovery, the incident continues to generate headlines, and the police investigation is ongoing.
