**Koothuparamba, Kerala –** In a remarkable turn of events, a 67-year-old man, Pavithran, has miraculously recovered just moments before being transferred to a mortuary in north Kerala. His family, believing him to be deceased after a long illness, had already begun making funeral arrangements.
Pavithran, suffering from cardiac and lung ailments, had been receiving treatment in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Due to high medical costs, his family decided to bring him home on Monday, despite doctors warning that he was unlikely to survive the journey without ventilator support. During the five-hour ambulance ride, Pavithran showed no signs of life, leading his family to believe he had passed away.
Upon arrival at AKG Memorial Co-operative Hospital, the family arranged for the body to be temporarily stored in the mortuary. However, a vigilant hospital attendant, Jayan, noticed a faint movement in Pavithran’s fingers just before the transfer. He immediately alerted the doctors and the family.
A subsequent check revealed Pavithran’s blood pressure was normal. He was rushed to the ICU and is now reportedly responding positively to treatment, opening his eyes and recognizing people. While his condition remains critical, doctors are optimistic about his recovery.
The incident has caused quite a stir in the local community, with some newspapers even publishing Pavithran’s obituary on Tuesday. Many visited his home to offer condolences before learning of the unexpected turn of events. The family, initially preparing for a funeral, is now hopeful for a full recovery.
