**Rajkot, India:** The Indian women’s cricket team created history on Wednesday, January 15th, achieving a record-breaking 304-run victory over Ireland in the final ODI of their three-match series. This is the largest winning margin in the history of women’s ODI cricket, surpassing India’s previous best of 249 runs, also against Ireland in 2017.

Captained by Smriti Mandhana, India posted a mammoth 435/5, their highest ever ODI total at home, surpassing even the men’s team’s previous record of 418/5 set against the West Indies in Indore in 2011. Mandhana herself smashed a stunning century off just 70 balls, the fastest century by an Indian woman in ODIs, breaking Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record. This was Mandhana’s 10th ODI century, making her only the fourth Indian woman to reach this milestone. Opener Pritika Rawal also contributed significantly with a maiden ODI century, scoring 154 runs.

Ireland, facing a daunting target of 436, were bowled out for 131 runs in 31.4 overs, leading to India’s emphatic win. Deepti Sharma led the bowling attack for India, taking 3 wickets.

The victory completed a 3-0 series sweep for India, marking a dominant performance. The match also saw Rawal win the Player of the Match award for her outstanding century.
