**Dublin, Ireland –** Pratika Rawal smashed her first One Day International (ODI) century, a stunning 154 off 129 balls, leading India to a record-breaking 435/3 against Ireland in the third and final ODI on Wednesday. This victory capped off a dominant series win for the Indian women’s team.
Rawal, who replaced the out-of-form Shafali Verma in the side, has been in exceptional form. She previously scored 76 against the West Indies and followed that up with scores of 89 and 67 in the first two ODIs against Ireland. Her consistent performance continued in the third match, where she spearheaded a massive partnership with Smriti Mandhana (who also scored a century).
The pair’s 233-run stand, India’s third highest ODI partnership, set the foundation for India’s highest ever ODI score against Ireland. Rawal’s innings included 14 boundaries, and she reached her century in 100 balls before continuing to dominate the Irish bowling attack. India’s total of 435 is the fourth highest ever in Women’s ODIs.
Speaking after the match, Rawal credited her success to a calm, ball-by-ball approach, acknowledging a slight slowdown in her innings after reaching 78 runs but emphasizing her satisfaction with the team’s overall performance and the final score which surpassed their target of 400 runs.
