Wed Jan 15 17:57:24 UTC 2025: ## Rawal’s Maiden Century Powers India to Record ODI Total Against Ireland

**Rajkot, India –** Indian opener Pratika Rawal smashed a stunning maiden ODI century, propelling India to a record-breaking 435/5 against Ireland in the final ODI on Wednesday. Rawal’s 154 off 129 balls, including a run-a-ball hundred, formed the cornerstone of a mammoth 233-run opening partnership with stand-in captain Smriti Mandhana, who also notched her 10th ODI century (135 off 70). This is India’s highest ever ODI total.

The 23-year-old Rawal, playing only her sixth ODI, showcased exceptional batting prowess, building on her promising debut last month against the West Indies where she scored 40 runs and took a wicket. Her impressive academic record – a 92.5% score in her CBSE board exams and a bachelor’s degree in psychology – adds another dimension to her remarkable journey. Rawal, who hails from Delhi and plays domestic cricket for Railways, credits her psychology studies with enhancing her mental game on and off the field.

The impressive victory caps off a successful series for India, highlighting the team’s strength and the emergence of a promising new talent in Pratika Rawal.
