**Hyderabad, Telangana, January 15, 2025** – Shadnagar police have arrested a three-man gang responsible for a sophisticated ATM card scam that defrauded numerous citizens of lakhs of rupees. The accused, identified as Kariman Sahani (33) and Rupdev Sahani (34), both from Bihar, and Saheeb Sahini (34) from Punjab, were apprehended following a complaint filed in August 2024.
Police recovered ₹2.38 lakh in cash, 140 fake ATM cards, and four mobile phones. The gang targeted vulnerable individuals, including illiterate people, senior citizens, and women, at ATM machines. They offered assistance with withdrawals, subtly replacing genuine ATM cards with duplicates while memorizing the PIN. The investigation revealed the trio’s involvement in at least 15 similar cases across the Cyberabad commissionerate. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
