Tue Jan 14 21:33:00 UTC 2025: ## Tripartite Talks on Frontier Nagaland Territory Scheduled for Wednesday
**Kohima, January 15, 2025** – Tripartite talks aimed at resolving the long-standing demand for a Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) are scheduled for Wednesday. The talks will bring together representatives from the central government, the Nagaland state government, and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO). The ENPO, representing six eastern districts of Nagaland, has been advocating for a separate state since 2010, citing decades of alleged neglect.
Last month, the ENPO temporarily accepted a central government proposal offering a degree of autonomy for the region, paving the way for these crucial discussions. The talks will be held in Chumoukedima district, with A.K. Mishra representing the Centre.
The six districts – Kiphire, Longleng, Mon, Noklak, Shamator, and Tuensang – are home to eight tribes and have boycotted recent elections to press their demands. The Nagaland state cabinet previously discussed the ENPO’s request for the FNT in October.
