**AUROVILLE, Puducherry – January 15, 2025** – The harvest festival of Pongal was celebrated with vibrant international participation in Auroville this year. Residents and visitors from diverse nationalities joined local communities in celebrating the three-day festival at the Mohanam Cultural Heritage Centre.
The Auroville Foundation hosted the event, showcasing traditional Pongal customs. Participants engaged in kummi dances, learned to prepare the traditional sweet rice dish, and were captivated by cultural competitions including pole climbing, rope climbing, peacock dance, and folk dance performances.
