**Bengaluru, January 15, 2025** – Kothanur police have arrested two members of the notorious Ojikuppam gang in connection with a May 2024 robbery in K. Narayanapura. Abhishek and Kanchala Gopi, already incarcerated in Parappana Agarahara Central Prison on unrelated charges, confessed to the crime after police secured their custody.
The duo, who diverted the victim’s attention before stealing gold and silver valuables, led police to a Chennai residence where ₹33 lakh worth of stolen gold and cash was recovered. Further investigation revealed the pair were responsible for a similar robbery in March 2024, with the stolen goods also entrusted to their friend. Police have issued a notice to this accomplice to appear for questioning and return the remaining valuables.
