**New Delhi, [Date]** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that Aadhaar linking is mandatory for all applicants to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2025 (NEET (UG) 2025). The agency urges candidates to link their Aadhaar card with a valid mobile number for OTP-based authentication before the registration process begins.
This mandate, issued in accordance with the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, aims to integrate the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID with the NEET (UG) application process. Candidates are encouraged to use their APAAR ID alongside Aadhaar-based authentication.
The NTA highlights several benefits of Aadhaar integration: streamlined application submissions with auto-populated details, faster identity verification using facial recognition technology, quicker exam hall entry, and enhanced overall security for candidates.
The notification strongly recommends that applicants ensure their Aadhaar details, particularly name and date of birth (matching class 10 certificates), and facial recognition data are accurate and up-to-date. Updates can be made at any Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Centre.
NEET (UG) is the crucial entrance examination for undergraduate medical education across India, including prestigious institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER. The registration process for NEET (UG) 2025 will open at a later date.
