Wed Jan 15 15:38:34 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Kalamandalam University Announces 2023 Fellowships and Awards
**Thrissur, Kerala, January 15, 2025** – The Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed to be University announced the recipients of its prestigious fellowships and awards for the year 2023. Eminent artists from various classical dance and music forms were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
Sadanam Vasudevan, a renowned chenda artist, received the Kakkad Karanavappadu Fellowship, while kathakali maestro Kalamandalam K.G. Vasudevan was awarded the Thakazhi Kunchukurup Fellowship. Kalakshetra Vilasini, a prominent Mohiniyattam exponent, received a special jury mention.
Numerous other awards were presented, recognizing excellence in various aspects of Kathakali (including vesham, music, chenda, and maddalam), Mohiniyattam, Thullal, Kudiyattam, and dance music. Specific awardees include Kottakkal Kesavan Kundalayar, Kottakkal Madhu, Kottaram Subhramaniyan Namboodiri, and many others.
Sadnam Harikumar received the M.K.K. Nair award for lifetime achievement, and Kalamandalam Aadityan was named the young talent award recipient. Erikkavu Sunil’s book, “Resounding of Mridangam,” won the best art book award, while Kalamandalam Venkitaraman’s documentary, “Taadiyarangu,” was named best documentary.
