**Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Telangana –** Nine individuals were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly organizing an illegal cockfight near Janagama village in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Telangana. Police, acting on a tip-off, raided a farm near Palle Prakruthi Vanam and seized three roosters, three knives, and ₹3,900 in cash. The arrests took place during the Sankranti festival, when cockfighting is traditionally held but remains banned. The accused are from various villages in and around Koutala mandal. Authorities maintained heightened vigilance across the district over the past three days to enforce the ban on cockfighting.
