PATNA, Bihar – The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar has launched a confident campaign for the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections, aiming to win over 225 of the 243 seats. At a joint workers’ conference in West Champaran district, leaders emphasized their unity and the state’s development under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership. This is the first major public show of strength since Mr. Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) rejoined the NDA in January 2024.
State BJP president Dilip Jaiswal highlighted the NDA government’s achievements and contrasted their development agenda with the Opposition’s “self-interest.” He expressed optimism, predicting a resounding victory fueled by the public’s rejection of the RJD’s Lalu Prasad Yadav and an embrace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Kumar’s vision.
JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha echoed this sentiment, urging party workers to spread awareness of the NDA’s accomplishments and the upcoming election. The event, attended by leaders from all NDA constituent parties, including the BJP, JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM(S), and RLM, served to quell speculation regarding potential shifts in political alliances. A series of ten such conferences are planned across the state.
