Tue Jan 14 21:37:40 UTC 2025: ## Pant Confirms Ranji Trophy Return for Delhi
**New Delhi, January 15, 2024** – Rishabh Pant has confirmed his availability for Delhi’s next Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra, starting January 23rd. This follows a DDCA official’s earlier call for Pant and Virat Kohli to participate in the tournament. While Kohli was included in the potential players list for the final two league matches, Pant’s confirmation is a significant boost for Delhi.
DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma confirmed Pant’s participation, stating that the wicketkeeper-batter will be available for selection. This move comes after Pant’s omission from India’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against England, despite playing all five Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He is the latest Test player to commit to domestic cricket following the BCCI’s emphasis on national team players participating in domestic tournaments. Shubman Gill previously confirmed his participation in Punjab’s match against Karnataka.
Pant, 27, has played in all 10 of India’s Test matches since September 2024 and also featured in the Duleep Trophy. His last Ranji Trophy appearance was in the 2017-18 final against Vidarbha in December 2017. Delhi, currently third in Elite Group D, trails Saurashtra by 14 points. Other players confirming their participation include Yashasvi Jaiswal for Mumbai, and Rohit Sharma, who resumed training with the Mumbai Ranji team on January 14th.
