Tue Jan 14 12:02:52 UTC 2025: **Villagers Protest Telangana Government’s Unfulfilled Promises Using Sankranti Rangoli**
Adilabad, Telangana: Villagers in Mukhrake, Ichoda mandal, Adilabad district, protested the Telangana government’s unfulfilled election promises by creating rangoli designs with slogans expressing their discontent during the Sankranti festival. Instead of traditional festive designs, the rangoli featured messages like “Rythu Bharosa Govinda,” “Loan Waiver Govinda,” and “Rs. 4,000 Pension Govinda,” highlighting the government’s six guarantees that remain unfulfilled, according to the protesters.
The villagers stated they feel cheated by the ruling BRS party, accusing the government of failing to deliver on promises made during the election campaign, including the Rythu Bharosa scheme (promised Rs. 15,000 per farmer), loan waivers, and pensions. They claimed that the six guarantees are “bogus” and questioned how they can celebrate the harvest festival without receiving the promised financial assistance.
The protest was highlighted by the BRS party itself, which shared a video of the rangoli designs on the X platform (formerly Twitter). The incident underscores growing frustration among villagers regarding the unkept promises of the state government.
