Mon Jan 13 18:17:52 UTC 2025: ## Thane Telugu Community Celebrates Sankranti with Cultural Extravaganza

**THANE, MAHARASHTRA –** Over 300 members of the Telugu community in Thane, Maharashtra, enthusiastically celebrated Sankranti Sambaralu on Sunday, January 12th, 2025. The event, organized by the Federation of Telugu Associations of Maharashtra (F-TAM) and Thane Telugu Community Cultural Centre (TTCCC), featured a vibrant array of activities including rangoli competitions, essay writing, fancy dress, and traditional cultural performances.

The celebration received support from the Department of Language and Culture and the A.P. State Creativity and Culture Commission. Guests from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also attended the festivities, which concluded with a traditional Telugu feast.

F-TAM president Ganji Jaganbabu highlighted the organization’s various community initiatives, including Telugu and Marathi language classes, matrimonial support, and educational and skill development programs. Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Kadam warned attendees about the rising threat of cybercrime, urging them to report suspicious calls and messages to the toll-free number 1930.

Dr. P.V. Ramana, chairman of F-TAM and president of the Maharashtra State Telugu Sahitya Academy, encouraged Telugu people in Maharashtra to foster community unity and support each other. The event concluded with a call for participation in upcoming community events. The celebration was supported by numerous volunteers from various backgrounds, including IIT Mumbai students and IT professionals.
