Mon Jan 13 22:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Mac Miller’s Posthumous Album ‘Balloonerism’ Gets Animated Film Companion

**NEW YORK, NY** – A new short film accompanying the release of the late rapper Mac Miller’s posthumous album, *Balloonerism*, will premiere on January 15th. The animated film, directed by Samuel Jerome Mason, is inspired by the album’s unreleased tracks and features a surreal narrative about a group of friends transported to a shadow world.

The film will screen in select theaters in Pittsburgh (Miller’s hometown) and New York City, with tickets costing $5. International screenings will follow on January 16th in Toronto, London, Paris, Melbourne, Berlin, Sydney, Dublin, and Auckland. All proceeds will benefit the Mac Miller Fund. Attendees will also receive limited edition *Balloonerism* merchandise.

*Balloonerism*, the album itself, drops January 17th and features collaborations with SZA and Miller’s alter ego, Delusional Thomas. Miller’s estate described the album as showcasing his “musical talents and fearlessness.” The project, originally worked on in 2013 and 2014, was a passion project for the artist, according to the estate.

Further fueling anticipation, Miller’s estate recently released the previously unreleased track “5 Dollar Pony Rides,” featuring Thundercat, Ronald Bruner Jr., and Kintaro. The album’s release follows the recent unveiling of the full tracklist.
