Tue Jan 14 07:01:11 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Construction Worker Arrested for Rape and Murder of Six-Year-Old Girl

**Bengaluru, January 14, 2025** – A 24-year-old construction worker, Abhishek Kumar, has been arrested for the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Hoysala Nagar, Bengaluru. Kumar, who hails from Bihar, lured the child with candies, took her to an isolated location, and sexually assaulted her before killing her.

The incident occurred on Monday, January 14th. The victim, whose parents are also migrant workers, was playing outside her home when she was abducted. Her parents discovered her body with the accused nearby. Enraged, the parents and neighbors apprehended Kumar before handing him over to the RM Nagar police.

Kumar is currently under police custody and has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A medical examination has been conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
