**New Delhi, India –** India’s men’s Kho Kho team roared to victory in the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, defeating Nepal 42-37 in a thrilling match at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Monday. Led by all-rounder Pratik Waikar, the Indian team showcased impressive skill and teamwork, securing a commanding lead early in the game. The Indian contingent’s performance highlighted a spectacular opening day for the tournament, which features 20 men’s and 19 women’s teams from around the globe.
India’s dominance was evident from the start, with their defense neutralizing Nepal’s top three players within just 60 seconds of the first turn. Waikar and teammate Ramji’s impressive flying jumps contributed significantly to a 14-point lead with only three minutes remaining in the first turn.
