**CHENNAI, INDIA** – Sun Pictures has announced the sequel to the blockbuster Tamil film *Jailer*, with Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian. Nelson Dilipkumar, who directed and wrote the original *Jailer*, will return for the sequel.
A four-minute announcement teaser featuring Rajinikanth, Anirudh Ravichander (music composer), and Nelson Dilipkumar was released in select theaters across 15 cities in India, including two locations in Kerala (Aries Plex, Thiruvananthapuram and Aroma, Palakkad), and online. The teaser generated significant excitement, particularly among fans eager to see if Mohanlal, who had a cameo in the first film, will also return.
The original *Jailer*, featuring Vinayakan as the antagonist and cameos from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, was a massive box-office success. Anirudh Ravichander will once again compose the music for *Jailer 2*, and Stunt Shiva will handle the action choreography. Vijay Kartik Kannan will be the cinematographer. The film will be produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the Sun Pictures banner.
