Tue Jan 14 14:59:28 UTC 2025: ## Israeli Airstrikes Kill Dozens in Gaza Amid Ceasefire Talks

**GAZA CITY** – At least 32 Palestinians were killed and hundreds more injured in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to Gaza’s health authorities. The attacks, which targeted several cities including Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Deir el-Balah, brought the total Palestinian death toll since the October 7th conflict began to at least 46,645.

Among the victims were multiple families, with one attack on a home in Khan Younis killing ten people, including a one-year-old girl, her parents, grandfather, and uncle. Another strike on a home in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of four children. A separate attack on a tent housing displaced Palestinians in Deir el-Balah claimed three more lives. Witnesses reported Apache helicopters firing on areas of Jabalia.

These devastating attacks come as ceasefire negotiations, mediated by Qatar, appear to be gaining traction. However, the escalating violence casts a shadow over the ongoing talks aimed at securing a truce and the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas since the October 7th attacks, which killed at least 1,139 Israelis and resulted in over 200 being taken captive. The overall death toll in Israel remains at 1,139. The continuing violence underscores the immense humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, where over 110,000 have been injured.
