Tue Jan 14 05:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Heat Torch Blazers, 119-98, Despite Butler Suspension Drama

**PORTLAND, Ore. (AP)** — Tyler Herro led the Miami Heat to a convincing 119-98 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night, scoring 32 points, including seven 3-pointers. The win marks the Heat’s third consecutive victory after a three-game losing streak.

Nikola Jovic provided strong support off the bench, contributing 21 points and eight rebounds. The Heat dominated the first half, building a 20-point lead before Portland mounted a comeback in the third quarter. Anfernee Simons led the Blazers with 28 points, including a 17-point outburst in the third, briefly cutting Miami’s lead to four points. However, the Heat ultimately pulled away in the final quarter, securing the comfortable win.

The game took place amidst ongoing drama surrounding Heat forward Jimmy Butler, who is serving a seven-game suspension for undisclosed conduct detrimental to the team. The Heat declined to comment on the situation.

Portland was hampered by the absences of Jerami Grant (facial contusion), Deandre Ayton (calf), and Robert Williams III (illness). Miami also played without Josh Richardson, who remains sidelined with a heel injury. Matisse Thybulle’s recovery from a right ankle injury will be reevaluated in two weeks for the Trail Blazers.

The Heat’s next game is scheduled for Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers, despite the ongoing wildfires in Southern California. The Trail Blazers will host the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
