Mon Jan 13 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## HCLTech Bucks Industry Trend, Adds Thousands of Employees Amidst Salary Hikes
**NOIDA, INDIA –** HCLTech, India’s third-largest IT services provider, has reported significant growth in its workforce, adding 2,134 employees in the December quarter, defying a broader industry slowdown. This contrasts sharply with the largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which saw a net decline of 5,370 employees during the same period. HCLTech’s total headcount now stands at 220,755.
The company’s positive employee growth follows a reduction of 780 employees in the previous quarter. Attrition, while rising slightly to 13.2% in Q3, remains lower than the 14.2% seen in the same period last year. HCLTech’s robust hiring included 2,014 fresh graduates, bringing the total number of freshers hired in fiscal year 2025 to nearly 7,000. The company plans to hire 10,000 fresh graduates by the end of FY25 and expects to exceed this target in FY26, focusing on specialized skills in AI and data analytics, even at entry-level.
To further retain and attract talent, HCLTech announced salary increases for mid- and senior-level management, effective in Q4, following similar increases for junior-level employees in Q3. The company anticipates a 50 to 60 basis point impact on its financials from these salary hikes.
In other news, HCLTech celebrated its 25th anniversary as a publicly listed company by declaring an interim dividend of Rs 18 per equity share, including a special dividend of Rs 6 per share. Separately, WhatsApp issued a warning to users to remain vigilant against suspicious messages containing typos, links, and requests for personal information from unknown senders.
