Mon Jan 13 19:04:02 UTC 2025: ## Saarang 2025 Concludes with Amit Trivedi Performance at IIT Madras
**Chennai, January 14, 2025** – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) concluded its annual cultural festival, Saarang 2025, on Monday with a vibrant closing day featuring a highly anticipated performance by music composer and singer Amit Trivedi. The festival, sponsored by The Hindu, saw a mix of excitement and bittersweet farewells as students prepared for the end of their winter break and the resumption of academic work.
While many stalls began winding down in the afternoon, the pop night with Trivedi drew large crowds. Students expressed varied feelings; some eagerly anticipated the upcoming semester, while others, like second-year chemistry student Usha, were already heading back to hostels for exam preparation. Saloni Gupta, a classmate planning to pursue a PhD in the UK, highlighted the enthusiasm of students making the most of their final year on campus.
The festival atmosphere buzzed with activity. An aspiring cartoonist, Sivaprakash M., offered students portraits in exchange for completing a “dare,” adding a unique element to the proceedings. The Indie music and hip-hop fest attracted many with its professional performances, while other stalls provided free makeup, a live graffiti canvas, and a diverse range of food options.
The event marked the end of the extended winter break for IIT Madras students, with some having returned early, according to volunteer Devika Aravind, a first-year mechanical engineering student. Saarang 2025, alongside the concurrent technical festival Shaastra, provided a memorable conclusion to the break before the resumption of classes on Friday.
