**Rewa, Madhya Pradesh:** The city of Rewa celebrated Makar Sankranti, the harvest festival marking the sun’s northward journey, with great enthusiasm on Tuesday. Celebrations included kite-flying competitions and fairs across urban and rural areas.

The Rewa Municipal Corporation organized a large kite-flying competition and cultural program at Atal Park, drawing a significant crowd. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla participated, flying a kite and extending Makar Sankranti greetings to the people of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, and India. He described the festival as one of excitement and joy, bringing renewed energy.

The celebrations also included a traditional fair at the Rewa fort, attracting many devotees seeking blessings at the Mahadev temple. Devotees offered traditional sweets made with sesame and jaggery, along with kichdi (rice and lentil dish). Numerous stalls selling various goods and local produce lined the fairgrounds. Similar scenes of festive celebrations and large crowds were reported at major temples across the district.
