Kansas City, MO – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity Challenge for the second time, marking a historic win for the player and the franchise. This is the fourth time in five years a Chiefs player has claimed the title. The victory, determined by a fan vote on X, resulted in a $35,000 donation from Nationwide to Kelce’s foundation, 87 & Running.
Kelce, who also won in 2020, is the first two-time winner of the 10-year-old challenge. He joins an elite group of Chiefs players – Patrick Mahomes (2022), Tyrann Mathieu (2021), and Eric Berry (2015) – who have previously won the award. All 32 nominees for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award were eligible for the fan vote, which ran from December 5th to January 6th.
The donation will further Kelce’s philanthropic work in the Kansas City community. Other Chiefs news includes recognition for several individuals and initiatives, including nominations for GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for Best NFL Stadium and Best NFL Stadium Food.
