**Amreli, Gujarat, January 13, 2025** – A seven-year-old girl was killed by a leopard attack in Chitrasar village, Amreli district, Gujarat, on Sunday evening. The girl was with her parents in a cotton field when the attack occurred. She sustained severe neck injuries and died en route to a hospital in Jafrabad.
In response to the tragedy, the Forest Department has deployed eight teams and set up cages in the surrounding area to capture the leopard. Rajula MLA Hira Solanki has called for immediate action, urging the government to proactively cage leopards venturing into human habitats and relocate them to prevent further human-animal conflict. Solanki also noted growing villager concerns and fear due to increased leopard attacks in the region.
