**HYDERABAD, INDIA –** Telugu action-thriller “Game Changer,” starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, opened with a bang, grossing a strong Rs 51 crore nett on its opening day. However, the film’s initial momentum appears to have faltered, with weekend collections falling short of expectations.
While the three-day domestic total reached Rs 89.6 crore nett, subsequent days saw a significant drop in revenue, according to tracking website Sacnilk. Sunday’s earnings of Rs 17 crore are considered low for a film of this scale and budget. Mixed reviews from critics and audiences are cited as potential factors contributing to the decline.
Despite the underwhelming domestic performance, the film’s producers claim a worldwide gross exceeding Rs 200 crore. This figure, however, has been met with skepticism from several industry trackers and analysts.
“Game Changer,” a social political thriller featuring Ram Charan in a dual role, boasts a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani, SJ Suryah, and others. The film, produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations on a reported budget of Rs 450 crore, is facing challenges to live up to its massive investment. The upcoming Sankranti/Pongal holidays may offer a boost, but the film’s long-term box office success remains uncertain.
