Sun Jan 12 22:09:24 UTC 2025: ## Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ Surpasses Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ at the Box Office
**Chennai, January 12, 2025** – Ram Charan’s Telugu-language political thriller, “Game Changer,” directed by Shankar, has achieved a significant box office milestone, surpassing the lifetime domestic earnings of Shankar’s previous film, “Indian 2,” starring Kamal Haasan.
Released on January 10th, “Game Changer” opened strongly, collecting ₹51 crore (approximately $6.2 million USD) on its first day in India. While the film experienced a drop of over 50% on its second day, earning ₹21.60 crore, its three-day total reached nearly ₹90 crore (approximately $10.9 million USD). Early estimates suggest the film’s opening weekend gross exceeded ₹82 crore (approximately $10 million USD), exceeding the ₹82 crore net domestic collection of “Indian 2.”
“Indian 2,” a 2024 vigilante action thriller, grossed ₹148 crore (approximately $18 million USD) worldwide but was considered a box office disappointment given its ₹250 crore budget. “Game Changer,” produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, has already grossed ₹108 crore (approximately $13 million USD) worldwide in its first two days. The film, Shankar’s Telugu cinema debut, also released in dubbed Hindi and Tamil versions.
The success of “Game Changer” comes as it faces competition from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “Daaku Maharaaj,” which debuted on January 12th with an estimated opening-day collection of ₹21 crore (approximately $2.6 million USD). Both films are expected to draw large audiences during the upcoming Pongal and Sankranti festivals.
