**Kolkata, India** – Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami will make a highly anticipated return to the Indian national team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England, starting January 22nd in Kolkata. The announcement, made by the BCCI, confirmed Shami’s inclusion after his last international appearance in the 2023 World Cup final.

Suryakumar Yadav will captain a relatively young Indian side, with Axar Patel serving as his deputy. The squad notably excludes several key players rested for the series, including Jasprit Bumrah (due to a persistent back spasm), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel will share wicket-keeping duties.
