HYDERABAD, January 13, 2025 – Tollywood actors Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati, along with family members including producer D. Suresh Babu and his son D. Abiram, have been named in a police complaint alleging house trespass and criminal conspiracy. The case stems from the demolition of the Deccan Kitchen restaurant in Filmnagar, Jubilee Hills.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), complainant Nanda Kumar, an accused in a separate case involving a BRS MLA, claims significant financial losses due to the alleged illegal actions. Kumar leased plots 2 and 3 on Road No. 1, Filmnagar, since 2014, investing ₹20 crore to establish Deccan Kitchen. He alleges escalating tensions with the Daggubati family since 2018, culminating in the alleged demolition.
Kumar claims that despite a court injunction, the GHMC attempted a partial demolition in November 2022, which was stopped. He further alleges that the Daggubati family, using 50-60 individuals, vandalized the property and stole valuables on November 13, 2022. The complete demolition allegedly occurred in January 2024. Following a court order, the Filmnagar police registered the case on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing.
