**MUMBAI** – Ram Charan’s highly anticipated political thriller, “Game Changer,” experienced a significant drop in box office earnings on its second day. After a strong opening day gross of ₹80.10 crore globally (₹61.1 crore domestically, ₹19 crore overseas), according to Sacnilk, the film witnessed a 57.84% decline, netting ₹21.5 crore on Saturday in India. While the film’s producers claimed a global Day 1 gross exceeding ₹186 crore, this figure differs significantly from Sacnilk’s reported numbers.
The film, directed by S Shankar and also starring Kiara Advani, performed best in its original Telugu language, earning ₹12.7 crore. Hindi audiences contributed ₹7 crore, while Tamil and Kannada markets generated ₹1.7 crore and ₹0.1 crore, respectively. The cumulative domestic box office collection stands at ₹72.5 crore after two days.
The film’s underperformance is attributed in part to stiff competition from Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” which continues its strong run, and possibly unmet expectations surrounding “Game Changer.” The discrepancies between the producers’ claimed earnings and independent trackers like Sacnilk remain a point of note.
