Sun Jan 12 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Kings’ Winning Streak Snapped by Flames in Calgary
**CALGARY, AB** – The Los Angeles Kings saw their five-game winning streak come to an end Saturday night, falling 2-1 to the Calgary Flames. Despite outshooting the Flames 37-28, the Kings struggled to find the back of the net, suffering their second loss to Calgary this season.
Jacob Moverare opened the scoring for the Kings early in the first period, netting his first goal of the season and just his second in the NHL. The Kings dominated possession and shots in the opening frame, registering 17 shots on Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf. However, they couldn’t build on their lead, and the momentum shifted in the second period.
A defensive zone turnover led to Calgary’s equalizer midway through the second. Matthew Coronato capitalized on a miscommunication, beating Kings goalie David Rittich with a quick wrist shot to tie the game at 1-1. Despite a 22-10 shot advantage for the Kings in the second, the period ended in a deadlock.
Jonathan Huberdeau scored the game-winning goal on the power play early in the third period, his 18th of the season. A late penalty compounded the Kings’ woes, leaving them unable to mount a serious comeback.
Rittich finished the game with 16 saves on 18 shots, bringing his record to 11-9-0. The Kings, now 1-1 on their five-game road trip, will look to rebound against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
