**Salem, Tamil Nadu – January 12, 2025** – Two construction workers died in a road accident on Saturday near Mettur in Tamil Nadu. Sivakumar (40) and Sathish (30) were traveling on a two-wheeler from Coimbatore to their hometown in Dharmapuri district to celebrate Pongal when their bike collided with a stationary lorry near Karumalaikoodal Railway Station. Both men were killed instantly.

Karumalaikoodal police have registered a case and sent the bodies to Mettur Government Hospital for postmortem examinations. The accident highlights the dangers faced by two-wheeler riders, particularly during festival travel periods.
