**Tiruchi, January 11, 2025** – Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Tiruchi district have called for expedited completion of ongoing development projects and improvements to infrastructure, citing concerns about road conditions and safety hazards. At a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting on Saturday, Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko highlighted complaints regarding poorly maintained roads, attributed to ongoing underground drainage work. He urged officials to expedite project completion and road repairs. He also pressed for the immediate commencement of an overbridge project on Fort Station Road, citing significant traffic congestion due to road closure. Similarly, Vaiko demanded urgent action to address safety concerns on a narrow service lane near G. Corner on the Tiruchi-Chennai Highway, suggesting a joint inspection by Southern Railway and National Highway Authority of India officials.
Perambalur MP K.N. Arun Nehru emphasized the importance of streamlined education loan processing to ensure access for all needy students. He also stressed the need for timely execution of government schemes to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The meeting, attended by Karur MP S. Jothimani, Tiruchi Collector M. Pradeep Kumar, and other officials, reviewed the progress of various schemes in the district. Earlier, the MPs participated in Pongal celebrations at the Collector’s Office, joined by several foreign tourists.
