**NEW DELHI, January 11, 2025** – Delhi Police have apprehended a Class 12 student for sending bomb threats to over 23 schools in the national capital over the past few weeks. The threats, which targeted approximately 10 schools on Thursday alone, were all found to be hoaxes.
Police claim the student orchestrated the threats to avoid taking his own exams. He used a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to mask his IP address while sending threatening emails. Interrogation revealed the student had employed similar tactics in the previous year, sometimes to gain attention and other times to delay examinations.
The series of threats began on December 9, 2024, impacting over 40 schools. The student was identified through his email address and is currently under investigation. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
