The case concerns the murder of 68-year-old Oyyammai, wife of the late Karuppasami, who was found dead in her Vettikulam home near Kalayarkoil on January 8, 2024. Police registered a case of murder for gain, as five sovereigns of gold jewelry were missing from the scene.
Illamaran, Oyyammai’s grandson and a member of the Indian Navy, expressed his deep disappointment in the lack of progress in the investigation through his viral video appeal.
