Sat Jan 11 12:48:57 UTC 2025: ## Ram Charan’s “Game Changer” Disappoints on Opening Day, Grossing Far Below Expectations
**Hyderabad, January 11, 2025** – Ram Charan and Shankar’s highly anticipated film, “Game Changer,” failed to meet box office expectations on its opening day, grossing significantly less than predicted. Trade analysts had forecast a record-breaking opening, possibly surpassing the collections of “Pushpa 2,” but negative word-of-mouth significantly impacted the film’s performance.
Preliminary figures suggest “Game Changer” collected approximately ₹51 crore worldwide on its first day. The Telugu version reportedly accounted for the lion’s share, earning around ₹42 crore. The Hindi version added approximately ₹7 crore, and the Tamil version contributed ₹2.1 crore. However, the Kannada and Malayalam versions underperformed drastically, earning only ₹1.5-2 lakh combined.
Analysts had initially projected opening day collections between ₹100-120 crore, fueled by the star power of Ram Charan and director Shankar. This stark contrast to the actual figures has come as a shock. The film’s underwhelming performance pales in comparison to Ram Charan’s previous film, “RRR,” which raked in ₹223 crore worldwide on its opening day, and even Shankar’s “Indian 2,” which earned around ₹50 crore.
“Game Changer,” a political action entertainer with a story by Karthik Subbaraj, was produced by Dil Raju on a massive budget of approximately ₹400 crore. The film stars Kiara Advani and Anjali alongside Ram Charan, with music composed by Thaman. Critics have pointed to an outdated concept and a lackluster screenplay as potential reasons for the film’s poor reception. While Ram Charan’s performance has been praised, the film’s overall negative reviews have significantly affected its box office prospects. With a break-even target of ₹225 crore, the film’s future performance remains highly uncertain.
