Fri Jan 10 16:38:35 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka ASHAs End Strike After Government Concedes ₹10,000 Monthly Honorarium

**Bengaluru, January 10, 2025** – Hundreds of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) in Karnataka have ended their indefinite strike after the state government agreed to their key demand for a fixed monthly honorarium. The ASHA workers, affiliated with the All-India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), had launched a state-wide protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Tuesday, demanding ₹15,000 per month.

Following a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, the government announced a ₹10,000 monthly honorarium for ASHAs. The government also pledged to expedite consideration of other demands, including guaranteed incentives for additional work and three months of paid leave for serious illness. The Chief Minister further committed to inviting the ASHA union for discussions regarding the upcoming March budget.

The Karnataka Rajya Samyukta ASHA Karyakartheyara Sangha, representing the striking workers, announced the withdrawal of the strike following these assurances. The remaining demands will be addressed at the departmental level.
