**New Delhi, January 11, 2025** – A thick blanket of fog engulfed the national capital this morning, causing significant disruption to train services. At least 45 trains were delayed due to the reduced visibility, officials reported.
Visibility dropped to a mere 50 meters between 12:30 am and 1:30 am at Safdarjung, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), though it improved to 200 meters by 7:30 am. Many areas experienced dense fog during the early morning hours.
Despite the fog, the minimum temperature remained at a seasonal normal of 7.7 degrees Celsius. However, the IMD forecasts thunderstorms and rain later in the day, with a maximum temperature expected around 15 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels reached 100 percent by 8:30 am.
