Sat Jan 11 05:23:43 UTC 2025: ## CRPF Jawan Injured in Chhattisgarh Maoist IED Blast

**Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, January 11, 2025** – A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was injured on Saturday in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, after stepping on a pressure-activated improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoist insurgents. The blast occurred during a routine area domination operation conducted by the 196th battalion in the Mahadeo Ghat area. The injured jawan was admitted to the Bijapur district hospital.

This incident follows a series of similar attacks in the region. On Friday, a villager was killed and three others injured in two separate IED explosions in neighboring Narayanpur district. A previous attack on January 6th in Bijapur resulted in the deaths of eight police personnel and a civilian driver after their vehicle was targeted by a Maoist IED. Authorities are continuing operations in the area.
