**New Delhi, January 11, 2025** – The BJP launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, accusing him of using the Jat community’s reservation demands as an election gimmick. Kejriwal’s recent promise to “fight with the Centre” to secure reservation for the Jat community in Delhi was met with sharp criticism from the BJP.

West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, herself from a Jat family, accused the AAP of disrespecting the community by ignoring the issue for the past ten years while in power. She dismissed Kejriwal’s letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as insufficient to guarantee reservation. “Merely writing a letter to the Prime Minister doesn’t give reservation to a community,” Sehrawat stated.

BJP leader Kuljeet Singh Chahal further alleged that Kejriwal’s sudden interest in the issue is politically motivated, suggesting that it stems from the BJP’s perceived strength within the Jat community in upcoming elections. Kejriwal had previously accused the BJP of “cheating” the Jat community by failing to include them in the Central government’s OBC list despite repeated promises.
