**Rajkot, India:** Smriti Mandhana etched her name in the history books during India’s opening ODI against Ireland. The star batter became the fastest woman to reach 4000 ODI runs, surpassing the previous record held by Mithali Raj.

Mandhana achieved the milestone during India’s successful chase of 239 runs, scoring a solid 41 runs in the process. She reached the 4000-run mark in her 86th ODI innings, a feat quicker than any other woman cricketer. This impressive performance also helped India secure a convincing 6-wicket victory and a 1-0 lead in the series. Mandhana is currently captaining the team in the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur.

Youngster Pritika Rawal also shone in the match, contributing a significant 89 runs from 96 balls, further bolstering India’s winning effort. Mandhana’s achievement makes her the 15th woman globally to reach 4000 ODI runs and the second Indian after Mithali Raj to accomplish this landmark.
