Sat Jan 11 05:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Sachin Tendulkar Amazed by Nathan Smith’s Spectaular Catch in New Zealand vs. Sri Lanka ODI
**Hamilton, New Zealand:** New Zealand’s Nathan Smith took a breathtaking catch during the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Hamilton, leaving even cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar stunned. Tendulkar shared a video of the catch on social media, commenting, “Who said flying is only for planes and birds?”
The incredible catch occurred in the 29th over of Sri Lanka’s innings. Isuru Udana attempted a big shot off the final ball, but edged it high over the wicket. With the shorter boundaries at the ground, it seemed destined for the ropes. However, Smith sprinted, leaped, and spectacularly caught the ball, his reaction a nonchalant display of skill that belied the difficulty of the catch.
The rain-affected match saw New Zealand post 255/9 in 37 overs, thanks to half-centuries by Rachin Ravindra and Chapman. Sri Lanka, in reply, were bowled out for 142, handing New Zealand a resounding 113-run victory and an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The final ODI will be played in Auckland on January 11th.
