**KRISHNAGIRIA, January 10, 2025** – A 69-year-old woman, Nagamma, was killed by a wild elephant in Kelamangal, Krishnagiri district, on Friday. Nagamma, a wage worker from Ondukurruki village, was collecting broomsticks when she was unexpectedly attacked and died at the scene. Local sources report she was unaware of the elephant’s presence. Kelamangalam police and the Forest Department recovered her body and the Forest Department provided an initial ₹50,000 solatium to her family.
