**COIMBATORE, January 10, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate special bus services from Coimbatore’s five major bus stands from January 10th to 14th to accommodate increased travel demand during the Pongal festival.
The additional services will connect Coimbatore to various destinations within the state and beyond. Singanallur and Sulur temporary bus stands will see services to Madurai, Theni, Karur, and Tiruchirapalli. Gandhipuram central bus stand will offer services to Salem, Tiruppur, Erode, Anaikatti, and Sathyamangalam. The new Mettuppalayam road bus stand will connect to Coonoor, Udhagamandalam, and Kotagiri.
A significant number of extra buses are planned: 250 to Madurai, 200 to Tiruchirapalli, 150 to Theni, and 250 to Salem from Coimbatore alone. Additional buses will also run between Erode and Tiruchirapalli/Madurai, and Tiruppur and Madurai/Tiruchirapalli/Theni. Connecting bus services will also operate from Gandhipuram and Ukkadam bus stands to the Sulur temporary bus stand. These measures aim to ensure smooth travel for passengers during the holiday period.
