Fri Jan 10 11:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Five-Alarm Fire Engulfs Bronx Apartment Building, Injuring Seven

**Bronx, NY –** A massive fire ripped through a six-story apartment building in the Bronx early Friday morning, injuring seven people and displacing numerous residents. Nearly 200 firefighters battled the blaze, which quickly escalated to a five-alarm fire – one of the most serious classifications.

The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. at a residential building on Wallace Avenue. Flames and thick smoke poured from the upper floors and roof, with videos circulating online showing the fire’s intensity and potential spread to neighboring structures.

Five firefighters and two civilians sustained injuries, though one civilian refused hospital treatment at the scene. Initial reports indicated some injuries were due to smoke inhalation.

As of 6:30 a.m., firefighters remained on the scene working to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The American Red Cross has established a temporary shelter at a nearby school on Adee Avenue to assist displaced residents. The extent of the displacement remains unclear. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
