Fri Jan 10 15:08:22 UTC 2025: ## Telangana CM Orders Crackdown on Inefficient Officials, Launches New Welfare Schemes

**Hyderabad, January 10, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued a stern warning to district collectors, threatening stringent action against those failing to effectively implement government welfare schemes. Addressing a Collectors’ Conference on Friday, Reddy announced surprise inspections beginning January 26th to ensure that benefits reach the intended recipients.

The Chief Minister’s warning comes as the state government prepares to launch several prestigious programs on Republic Day, January 26th. A key initiative is “Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa,” providing ₹12,000 to each landless agricultural labourer family. The government also aims to introduce a “one state, one ration card” system, allowing beneficiaries to access essential commodities from anywhere in Telangana.

Reddy further instructed collectors to finalize and submit lists of eligible beneficiaries for the “Indiramma Illu” weaker section housing program, subject to the approval of the respective district in-charge ministers. He also directed IAS and IPS officers to spend at least one night a month in welfare hostels, and women officers in girls’ hostels, to better understand the conditions and build confidence among residents. Preparatory work for the new schemes is slated for completion between January 11th and 15th.
