**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – January 10, 2025** – Software giant Infosys is partnering with the Andhra Pradesh government to launch a pioneering skill census program aimed at boosting employment opportunities for the state’s youth. The initiative, touted as the first of its kind in India, will leverage Infosys’s AI-powered Springboard platform to pre-validate the skills of 3.59 crore individuals aged 15-59.
The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on December 10th, involves Infosys providing the digital platform at no financial cost, a move lauded by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resource Development and IT, Nara Lokesh, as a commendable CSR initiative.
The platform will conduct a comprehensive skills assessment across various industries, identifying current skill levels and recommending further development pathways. It will also connect individuals with free online courses and workshops to enhance their skills and align them with career aspirations.
This initiative is a key component of the state government’s ambitious plan to create 2 million job opportunities for young people over the next five years. The use of generative AI and data-driven evaluations promises transparent tracking of progress and outcomes, ensuring the program aligns with this target.
Minister Lokesh emphasized the significance of Infosys’s contribution, highlighting the empowerment it will bring to Andhra Pradesh’s youth. The program is expected to significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of skill development programs, aligning training with actual market demands.
