Wed Jan 08 19:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Spurs Snap Up Young Czech Keeper Kinsky in First January Signing

**London, England** – Tottenham Hotspur have addressed their goalkeeping crisis by securing the services of 21-year-old Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague. The deal, reportedly worth £12.5 million plus add-ons, sees the young Czech international sign a contract until 2031.

Kinsky’s arrival comes as a much-needed boost for manager Ange Postecoglou. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been sidelined since November with a fractured ankle, and recent injuries and illness have left Tottenham short on goalkeeping options. The club’s struggles, reflected in just two wins from their last 11 matches, prompted swift action in the January transfer window.

“It’s been amazing to sign the contract,” Kinsky said. “Tottenham is a big name in Europe, especially in the Czech Republic, so for me it is a big honour.” The young keeper, who follows in the footsteps of his father, a former Czech Republic international, expressed his excitement about joining the club and contributing to the team.

Kinsky, a Czech Republic Under-21 international, has impressed with 29 appearances and 14 clean sheets for Slavia Prague this season. He is known for his strong passing ability, a skill that aligns well with Tottenham’s possession-based style of play. He is expected to provide competition and cover in Spurs’ depleted goalkeeping ranks.
